Maria Teresa (Tere) Solis is an applied research and marketing strategy expert in Mexico, serving for over fifteen years the tourism and meetings industry. Tere Solis has been Questex Travel and Hospitality Business Development Director in Mexico from 2013.
Tere was CEO for the Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism, Mexico Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), where she directed tourism research and technology development projects for Mexico’s tourism sector.
Solis spent seven years with the Mexican Tourism Board, where she managed marketing planning and later headed the organization’s research efforts. During her tenure, she launched the first co-op advertising program in the US and Canada and pioneered the Mexican Tourism Board’s market research program and Marketing Intelligence System.
Solis earned a Bachelor´s Degree in International Relations from Mexico National University, an M.A. in Research from Deakin University in Australia and an M.Sc. in Development Studies from the London School of Economics. She is a frequent speaker on international marketing and promotion. Tere Solis teaches Tourism Planning at Universidad Anahuac and she is an active member of MPI (Meetings Professionals International) Mexico Chapter.
